Transitions is a Grace Community Church ministry for young professionals, graduate students, and college students at a point of transition in their lives. We fellowship, study the Word, and share Christ with the local community. Come and join us!

IT WAS A BUSY AUGUST!
Transitions had several instrumental activities as summer drew to a close. On Tuesday, Aug. 30th Transitions put together a “Relationships Panel” with three Grace Community couples who have been married from five to twenty-three years. Relationship-related questions were pooled from Transitions members (mostly singles) several weeks in advance and presented to the panelists. The event was recorded and well attended.* The feedback we have received both during and after the event has been very positive and we pray that the wisdom provided by our panelists will be of lasting benefit to all who attended.
The following week we had a social night at Steak ‘N Shake in Coralville. This was also so well attended that we had to reserve more tables than we had initially planned! It was a good time for fellowship.
GOSPEL OF MARK BIBLE STUDY
We are continuing to study the Gospel of Mark and beginning chapter 6. As we learn about the life and teachings of Jesus, we are developing small Disciple Groups (DG’s) within which we can live out the gospel. Currently, we have two DG’s in North Liberty, one for men and one for women. We are looking at starting a third DG (for men) in North Liberty and then two more (one for men and one for women) in Iowa City. Our prayer is that Jesus will continue to be real in our corporate gathering, small groups and individual lives.
GOING GLOBAL
We want to report that Transitions member Deven Voelker is currently serving in Kenya after having just graduated from the University of Iowa. Deven is teaching students while also trying to disciple them to know and grow in faith in the living Lord of Glory. He will continue in that capacity for about a year. Please remember him in your prayers. Another group of Transitions members went to Haiti in September to serve.

Please continue to pray for Transitions that we would yield ourselves to the will of our Creator individually and corporately and that we may glorify Him in our ministry.
