Operated by the Iowa City Community School District, the mission of the North Liberty Family Resource Center is to affirm, strengthen and support families in the North Liberty Community.  They provide services for all families in the community as well as families with children at both elementary schools .

Opportunities:

  • Tutoring Program is for students in 3rd- 6th grade.  They are matched up one-on one with community volunteers  for nine weeks. Meets on Tuesday’s 4:30-5:45pm and/or 6:00-7:15pm
  • Computer Enrichment Program is offered to Kindergarten through second grade students to work on math and phonemic awareness. Teachers make referrals for students in their classroom who are in need of additional academic support and may not have access to a computer.
  • Transportation may be provided for families without a source of transportation to important, one time appointments.
  • Supply Pantries include various items, including school supplies, personal hygiene products, and some household cleaning items. Please call to learn current needs and how to provide needed items.
  • Family to Family is a program where the NLFRC connects families in need of household items and clothing with families who donate household items and clothing.
  • Resource and Assistance identifies families with special needs such as home repair, auto repair, or other kinds of assistance.
