Habitat for Humanity

Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity

3401 Scott Blvd. SE, Iowa City

Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1976 by Millad and Linda Fuller.  They bring together people for all backgrounds, races, and religions and partners with families in need to help them get into safe and affordable housing.

Their mission is eliminate poverty housing through partnering with people in need by providing safe, simple, and affordable housing.

Individuals and groups can sign up to help build a new home, experience is preferred but not necessary.  Go online to the Habitat calendar and sign up for a build that is near you.  Habitat also does a program called “Brush with kindness” that works on old homes in need of repair.
